A 20-year-old Charlotte mother, Shaniya Moore, has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Government Official or Employee after allegedly pulling a knife on a Department of Social Services (DSS) worker during a child custody transfer, according to court documents.
The incident unfolded on April 3, 2025, around 5:19 p.m. at Moore’s residence on 1223 Effingham Road in Charlotte. DSS employee Donna Davis, accompanied by colleague Shakella Pharr, was executing a court order to take custody of Moore’s two children.
